This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Jack Kennedy. Jack who is from Dingle in county Kerry is an Irish National Hunt jockey. He rode 123 winners in Ireland to be crowned champion jockey for the first time at the end of the 2023/2024 season. He became the youngest jockey in modern times at 21 years of age to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2021 renewal on the Henry de Bromhead-trained Minella Indo. He was only 17 when he rode his first winner at the Festival. He burst onto the scene in the summer of 2015 and was undoubtedly the find of the year.

Laura Farrington - January 15th 2025
This week’s guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Laura Farrington. After the passing of her father Laura left her corporate job and travelled to India where she found her passion In yoga and meditation which changed the course of her life bringing her to where she is today. Laura set up Umbrella Wellness in 2017 with the aim to help people with their mental and physical health in order to have a greater work life balance.

Aoife Raftery - January 8th 2025
This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Aoife Raferty. Aoife is an Irish female rally driver. She started competitive rallying in 2021 in the British Junior Rally Championship due to Covid-19 putting a stop to races in Ireland. She was one of 15 females selected to participate in the WRC’s first ever women’s development program. She is the only Irish driver to make the final assessment. Aoife believes the sport is growing and is hoping to inspire a generation of females to get involved in rallying industry.

Keith decided to start therapy which helped him to understand his diagnosis and he openly shares his story to raise awareness on ADHD & Autism and to normalise and get rid of the stigma around going to therapy.

This week’s guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Erin King. Erin is an Olympian and an Irish Rugby player who plays for the Ireland women’s national rugby team and the Irish rugby 7’s team. Erin was born in Australia. She lived with her family in Dubai and Doha. The family moved back to Ireland for Erin’s teenage years. Earlier this year she was named World Rugby Women’s Breakthrough layer of the Year at the World Rugby Awards in Monaco.
