The Philadelphia Phillies win a thriller, coming back to beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-6 in 10 innings to complete the Sweep of the Rays. Phillies starter Jesus Luzardo battled through 5.1 innings allowing two runs on six hits while throwing 105 pitches and striking out four. He left in the 6th with the Phillies trailing, 2-1. Tanner Banks took over in the 7th and surrendered a three-run homer to Yandy Diaz to put the Phillies in a 5-1 hole. The Phillies bats were quiet until the 8th, when J.T. Realmuto came up with a one-out single to center. Then two batters later, Brandon Marsh delivered with a two-out single to left to keep the inning going for Bryson Stott. The Phillies second baseman then smashed a three-run homer 409ft to right! Phils only trailed by a run after Stott’s homer. In the 9th, Kyle Schwarber led off with a single to right to extend his on-base-streak to 43 games. Johan Rojas pinch ran for Schwarber and later took third on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt by Pete Fairbanks. Rojas later scored the tying run on a ground out by Max Kepler. In the 10th, Brandon Marsh wasted no time jumping on a first pitch to drive in the go-ahead run on a double. Trea Turner followed in the inning with an RBI single to center field for the Phils to take a 7-5 lead and that would prove to be the game-winning hit.
