Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Unfaithful Partner Is Really Changing
29/08/2026 | 55 minHow Do You Know If Your Unfaithful Partner Is Really Changing?
--With Sam’s Healing Podcast
After infidelity, promises can sound reassuring—but how do you know whether your partner is actually changing? In this episode, Lora Cheadle talks with Sam from Sam’s Healing Podcast about what real recovery looks like on the unfaithful side of betrayal. They explore why actions matter more than apologies, why the unfaithful partner needs to take initiative instead of waiting to be managed, and why becoming teachable, confrontable, and emotionally mature is essential for rebuilding trust. They also discuss communication tools like AVR—acknowledge, validate, reassure—along with self-regulation, co-regulation, childhood patterns, boundaries, and the difference between performing recovery and genuinely becoming someone new.
Top 3 Takeaways
Stop listening only to what they say. Watch what they do.
Promises like “It will never happen again” have very little value if they are not backed by consistent behavior. Real change shows up between sessions: seeking help, reading, doing exercises, attending meetings when appropriate, learning new skills, telling the truth, following through, and taking initiative without being parented by the betrayed partner.
The unfaithful partner goes first.
The person who created the rupture has a responsibility to lead the repair. That means booking appointments, finding resources, doing the work, becoming teachable and open to correction, and learning how to respond to the betrayed partner’s pain rather than becoming defensive or demanding that they “get over it.”
Healing requires more than understanding why the affair happened.
Childhood wounds and family-of-origin patterns matter, but insight alone does not automatically create empathy, emotional maturity, communication skills, or safety. Both partners eventually need to learn self-regulation and co-regulation, while the unfaithful partner demonstrates through consistent action that they are becoming someone capable of rebuilding trust.

28/08/2026 | 54 minAndrea J. Medaris: Can Relationships Help Heal Trauma?
In this episode of Make Mental Health Matter Show, host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt has special guest Andrea J. Medaris.
A little bit about Andrea’s story from her:
I'm a couple therapist and treat many clients where one or both partners have a trauma history. Having done both individual and couple work around trauma, I've come to believe that couple therapy is one of the best ways to treat relational trauma (which most trauma is).
Short Bio:
Andrea J. Medaris, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist, certified supervisor in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, Director of the Center for Relationships at Psychology Specialists of Maine, and President of EFT Maine. She has spent the past decade in clinical work with couples, particularly relationships shaped by trauma, disconnection, and recurring conflict. She writes The Emotional Logic, a newsletter making sense of love, conflict, and desire, and her first book, What You Wish For, argues that emotional security and passion aren't the tradeoff we've been told they are.

28/08/2026 | 59 minHow Eight Days Of Hope Builds Safe Homes For Trafficking Survivors
A doorknob that never turns in the night should be ordinary, but for many trafficking survivors it feels like a miracle. That single detail becomes a thread we keep pulling as we return to Retreat to Peace with a raw personal update and a conversation that doesn’t let us look away from what’s happening in our towns, our travel stops, and sometimes even our own families.
I start by sharing my own testimony after multiple jaw surgeries and an exhausting recovery that brought pain, isolation, and a desperate 2:30 AM cry to God. I also share a terrifying spiritual moment that forced me to fight for peace in real time and how I later learned a friend was prompted to wake up at the exact same hour to pray for me. If you’ve ever wondered whether prayer matters when you feel helpless, this story will meet you right where you are.
Then I’m joined by Steve Tybor, founder of Eight Days of Hope, a Christian disaster relief and rebuilding ministry that now also builds safe homes and healing campuses for women and children rescued from human trafficking. We talk honestly about why trafficking happens, how pornography and addiction fuel demand, how grooming works, and why most trafficking doesn’t look like the movies. Steve shares practical warning signs to watch for, common red flags in places like hotels and “massage parlors,” and what a real path to survivor healing can require: safety, counseling, medical support, and long-term trauma-informed care.
If this conversation stirs you, don’t let it stop at awareness. Subscribe, share this episode with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find practical human trafficking prevention and survivor support resources.

28/08/2026 | 59 minWhat If Your Senses Could Help You Heal, Reset, and Respond Differently?
What if some of the most powerful tools for calming the nervous system and supporting healing are already with us every day—our senses?
Scarlett Lewis welcomes Adora Winquist, known as the “Modern Alchemist,” for a fascinating conversation about the connection between our senses, emotions, the nervous system, and healing. Adora shares approaches she has used in her work with military members and their families, including those navigating the challenges of returning home from war and the effects of trauma.
Together, Scarlett and Adora explore how sensory experiences—including scent—can help us pause, regulate our emotions, reconnect with ourselves, and create space between what happens to us and how we respond. They discuss Adora’s Modern Alchemy approach, which blends ancient practices with modern understanding of well-being, as well as practical ways sensory tools can be incorporated into everyday life.
For teachers, school leaders, counselors, parents, and anyone supporting young people, this conversation offers an intriguing perspective on creating calmer, more intentional environments while also caring for our own well-being.
Ultimately, this episode is about discovering the everyday tools available to us for navigating stress, supporting healing, and strengthening our ability to make a Choice Moment—pausing before reacting so we can respond with greater awareness, compassion, and love.
