Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Infidelity, Trauma & the Nervous System

    17/04/2026 | 59 min
Infidelity, Trauma & the Nervous System: Why Healing Is So Complex (and What Actually Works)

Infidelity is rarely simple—and healing from it isn’t either.

In this grounded, deeply human conversation, Lora sits down with trauma therapist Dr. Monique Thompson to explore the real complexity behind betrayal, relationships, and recovery. This is not a conversation about quick fixes, blame, or black-and-white answers. It’s about understanding what’s actually happening beneath the surface—neurologically, emotionally, and relationally.

Together, they unpack how trauma lives in the body, why you can look “fine” while your nervous system is in distress, and how early experiences—even preverbal ones—shape the way we connect, react, and make decisions in relationships.

They also explore the truth about infidelity: it’s not always clear-cut, it’s not always intentional in the way we think, and it’s never just about the moment it happened. Betrayal often uncovers deeper layers—identity, attachment, self-worth, and long-standing patterns that were already in motion.

This episode is a powerful reminder that healing requires slowing down, tending to yourself, and getting the right support. Whether you stay, leave, or don’t yet know what you want, there is no one “right” path—only your path.

If you’ve been trying to make sense of what happened, or wondering why this feels so overwhelming, this conversation will help you understand why—and what actually helps.

    Top 3 Takeaways

Infidelity is complex and rarely black-and-white. It often reflects deeper patterns, trauma, and unmet needs that existed long before the relationship.

Trauma is not just emotional—it is biological. You can appear functional on the outside while your nervous system is in a state of stress or survival.

Healing requires support, not isolation. Whether through therapy, coaching, or a team approach, having guidance helps you regulate, process, and make aligned decisions.

    Pull Quotes

“You can look fine on the outside—and still have a nervous system that thinks it’s in a war zone.”

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #664

    17/04/2026 | 59 min
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #664 is an hour of visionary acoustic improvised music played live by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, ukulele, 12-string acoustic guitar, dulcimer,Celtic harp and shruti box, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts at the end of March 2026, today’s show begins with the meditative raga “Let’s Be Love” featuring Mariam’s rich Martin 12-string before moving into another mystical, drifting 12-string drone piece called “Circle Of Light”, featuring Craig’s heartbeat Native drum and imaginative decoration from Bob on piano. “Take The Time To Bring In The Beauty” is a pretty, gently driving minor folk ballad led by Mariam’s chiming ukulele and opaque, poetic lyric and “Just Around The Bend” is an elegant, unusual, jazzy ballad with imaginative, unusual piano figurations from Bob supporting Mariam’s powerful vocal and Native flute duet. “All Life Unfolds” is a Gaea Star Band favorite by Mariam, a dancing, energized raga built on Mariam’s vintage-sounding dulcimer and featuring rock-steady Native drum, imaginative, wide-ranging piano and an evocative, deeply-felt vocal from Mariam. “Star Ray” is a deeply mysterious, rich, 60s-ish psychedelic-jazz workout with imaginative contributions from the whole ensemble and we close today’s show with a band favorite, Mariam’s “Into The Mystery” from her “For The Children” LP, played with an appealingly florid operatic style.

Love By Intuition with Deborah Beauvais: What is Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry

    17/04/2026 | 58 min
What is Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry and what brought you to create Paper Clips and Periods Podcast, with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych MSN

At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, I provide care that treats the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. As founder and co-owner, I built the practice around an integrative and trauma-informed approach. I work with individuals across the lifespan, including those with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, nurses and frontline workers experiencing burnout, and anyone navigating life’s transitions. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to heal.

My Philosophy: Psychiatric nursing for me is about connection and support. It is not just treating symptoms, it is listening, understanding, and walking alongside you on your journey. I believe trauma-informed care is essential for everyone, and I strive to help each person rediscover resilience while feeling seen and respected.

Education and Experience: I hold advanced degrees in nursing and education, along with certifications in psychiatric nursing, nursing education, perinatal mood disorders, and legal nurse consulting. With nearly 20 years of nursing experience across critical care, emergency, medical-surgical, and intensive care settings, as well as extensive work in nursing education and leadership, I bring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare practice. These experiences have shaped my role as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, grounding my work in a deep awareness of the emotional toll healthcare work can take and the critical importance of accessible, compassionate mental health support.

Personal Inspiration: My personal experiences, including postpartum depression, cancer, and working alongside frontline workers, strengthened my empathy and shaped my approach to psychiatry. I understand what it is like to face burnout, trauma, and life transitions, and I am committed to helping others navigate these challenges with care and compassion.

Current Practice: I provide psychiatric care and therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns, including trauma, mood disorders, perinatal mental health, depression, and anxiety. I am especially focused on supporting moms, nurses, caregivers, and those facing high-stress work environments or major life transitions, helping them build resilience and find balance.

At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, Katharine “Katie” Krych, MSN, RN, brings her expertise as a master’s-prepared registered nurse, nursing faculty instructor, and health education consultant. She supports clients and students by bridging the worlds of healthcare and education, helping them navigate complex health, developmental, and mental health challenges with clarity and confidence. Katie works with individuals, families, and educational teams to provide practical strategies, compassionate guidance, and evidence-based support, emphasizing holistic care that addresses both emotional and functional needs.

Philosophy of Care: Katie believes that education and healthcare are most effective when they empower individuals through knowledge, empathy, and real-world application. Her approach focuses on building competence, confidence, and resilience, whether in the classroom, clinical setting, or community. She creates a supportive environment where clients and students can explore challenges safely, develop critical thinking skills, and take actionable steps toward improved well-being, learning, and life outcomes.

Education: Katie holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Professional Educator License as a Certified School Nurse. Her advanced training equips her to integrate nursing practice with educational strategy, focusing on both student and client outcomes. She is dedicated to lifelong learning, staying informed on the latest research in nursing, mental health, and neurodevelopmental support.

Professional Experience: Katie’s experience spans emergency and trauma care, peri-operative nursing, fertility support, school health, and higher education. As a nursing faculty member, she is committed to preparing future nurses to become safe, competent, and compassionate professionals. Her teaching style is practical, student-centered, and supportive, emphasizing critical thinking, clinical readiness, and confidence-building. In her work with schools and families, Katie provides guidance on IEPs, 504 plans, and student health accommodations, with a special interest in mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions, and early identification of students with complex needs. She also consults and creates educational content designed to empower clients, families, and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions about health and wellness.

Personal Inspiration: Katie draws inspiration from her experiences as a mother of five, a lifelong learner, and an advocate for honest conversations about health, trauma, resilience, and motherhood. Her personal journey informs her professional work, allowing her to connect authentically with students, clients, and families. She believes that sharing knowledge alongside empathy and lived experience can transform lives and create lasting impact.

Current Practice: At Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, Katie applies her expertise to support clients, families, and educational teams with guidance rooted in nursing, mental health, and developmental knowledge. She combines evidence-based strategies with practical insight to help individuals navigate complex challenges, build confidence, and achieve meaningful outcomes. Midlife Love Out Loud with Junie Moon: Why Love Feels Hard When You’re Overthinking It

    17/04/2026 | 38 min
Why Love Feels Hard When You’re Overthinking It

In this episode of Midlife Love Out Loud, Junie Moon sits down with transformative teacher and bestselling author Michael Neill to explore why love often feels so hard and how overthinking quietly sabotages connection.

Michael shares a radically simple understanding of how the mind works and why insight, not effort, is what actually creates ease, clarity, and deeper relationships. Together, they unpack why trying harder in love often backfires and how letting go of mental noise opens the door to real intimacy.

This conversation is especially powerful for anyone navigating dating, relationships, or emotional overwhelm in midlife and wondering why patterns keep repeating despite doing all the work.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in your head, burned out on self improvement, or confused about why love feels harder than it should, this episode offers a refreshing and hopeful perspective.

    In this episode, you’ll learn
    • Why overthinking blocks intimacy and connection
    • How insight changes relationships without effort
    • The difference between fixing yourself and understanding your mind
    • Why love becomes easier when you stop managing it
    • How clarity naturally emerges when the mind settles

Michael Neill is a globally recognized transformative teacher, author, and speaker, celebrated for weaving profound insights into practical strategies that elevate leadership and performance. With more than 30 years as a coach and adviser, he has catalyzed breakthroughs for founders, CEOs, creative artists, and executives across sectors—finance, energy, manufacturing, media, and beyond—dispelling the myth that stress is essential for growth. He maintains a small private practice coaching high achievers to peak performance, and has consistently been ranked among the top thirty coaching thought leaders alongside icons like Jack Canfield, Marshall Goldsmith, and Tony Robbins.
