THE LANTERN OF HOLLOW STARS
When a Federation patrol ship stumbles upon crystalline lanterns drifting in the Remnant Veil, curiosity becomes peril. The lights pulse like beacons, leading the crew into a labyrinth of folded space — a trap woven by the Hollow Stars, remnants of a civilization that burned itself hollow.
Each lantern calls with the voices of the lost: loved ones, comrades, memories dredged from the mind’s deepest wounds. But the Keeper warns — light is never innocent. To listen is to surrender.
Caught between grief and survival, the crew must decide whether to follow the false beacons or burn their way free before the labyrinth closes forever.
A haunting short story of trust, temptation, and the peril of chasing every light in the dark.
