She was spending the weekend at a friend’s parents’ house in rural Pennsylvania when they reached an older section of the home that felt slightly different from the rest. At the end of a narrow hallway was a small room no one seemed to use anymore. Nothing about it looked unusual when the door opened, but the moment she stepped toward it, something in her told her not to go any further.
