Depuis 1882, la Sagrada Familia traverse les générations, les techniques et les époques. À l’occasion du centenaire de la mort d’Antoni Gaudí, ce numéro SPOT propose une exploration architecturale, historique et sensible de cette œuvre hors norme. Plus qu’un monument, la basilique de Barcelone apparaît comme une démonstration monumentale du temps long en architecture. Des modèles funiculaires de Gaudí aux outils numériques de Mark Burry, des colonnes arborescentes à la façade de la Nativité, la Sagrada Familia révèle une œuvre qui dépasse ceux qui l’ont initiée. Portée depuis plus de cent quarante ans par des générations d’architectes, d’ingénieurs, d’artisans et de donateurs, elle rappelle que certaines architectures ne se construisent pas à l’échelle d’une vie humaine. AW² is an international architecture and design agency based in Paris. Réda Amalou, a graduate of the University of East London, founded the agency in 1997. Stéphanie Ledoux, a graduate of the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris, joined him in 2000 and became a partner in 2003. Since then, the two partners have been at the helm of the agency, and are personally involved in the architectural design of each project. The types of program are numerous, despite a consistent development in the field of high-end hotels. This is how AW² comes into contact with cultures near and far. Travels and projects far from the basics, define the contours of their architectural approach and what they are today. The basis of this approach is first and foremost an "open" approach to design, based on the notions of idea and context. The idea being the origin - their vision - of the project, and the context the identified elements that nourish it. To be heard from the protagonists!

AW² est une agence internationale d’architecture et de design, basée à Paris. Réda Amalou, diplômé de l’Université de East London, fonde l’agence en 1997. Stéphanie Ledoux, diplômée de l’Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture à Paris, le rejoint en 2000 et devient associée en 2003. Dès lors, les deux associés mènent l’agence et sont personnellement impliqués dans la conception architecturale de chaque projet. Les typologies de programmes sont nombreuses, en dépit d'un développement conséquent dans le domaine de l'hôtellerie haut de gamme. Ainsi AW² se construit au contact de cultures proches et lointaines. Les voyages, les projets loin des bases, définissent les contours de leur démarche architecturale et de ce qu'ils sont aujourd’hui. La base de cette démarche s’affirme d’abord dans une approche ‘ouverte’ du projet qui se base sur les notions d’idée et de contexte. L’idée étant l’origine – leur vision – du projet et le contexte les éléments identifiés qui la nourrissent.

Architect and engineer Noémie Aureau founded Atelier No'Au after nearly eight years at Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris. Her work brings together technical precision, environmental awareness and a sensitive reading of place. In this short episode of Com d’Archi, she reflects on the origins of her practice and explains how engineering and architecture can work together to shape meaningful projects. For her, constraints are not obstacles but opportunities to create elegant, resilient and lasting architecture. The conversation also focuses on one of Atelier No'Au’s first major projects: the extension of a holiday resort on the Brittany coast. Designed through an off-site construction approach, the project combines timber structures, prefabricated components and careful integration within an exceptional natural landscape. Through this example, Noémie Aureau discusses design for assembly, low-carbon construction and the possibilities offered by industrialised timber building systems developed with SYbois, a key partner in both the project and this podcast.
