It's April, 2006, when 27-year-old medical student Brian Shaffer fails to show up for a flight to Miami, leaving his girlfriend alone at the airport gate. Brian's family quickly alert police, who learn Brian was last seen at a local bar two days earlier, but had not been heard from since. As the investigation continues, police are left with more questions than answers. Was Brian the victim of foul play or some kind of tragic accident, or is it possible that Brian wanted to go off the map and made himself disappear? Listen in as Maggie is joined by author of "Playing Dead," Elizabeth Greenwood, and the two discuss Brian's disappearance, as well as Liz's experience researching those who choose to leave their lives and start anew.
