  One of the best gifts that the Lord gave me through starting The Christian Girl's Tea Podcast was a friendship with the incredible Shira Rodriguez. She's simply an amazing human, and an even better friend, and I love her so much.BUT that's not all she is! She is now *drumroll please* a PUBLISHED author, with her short story "The Lost History of Lavender Lockbourne" being featured in Wild Blue Wonder Press' anthology, Novelists in November. (Spoiler: I definitely cried at one point of the story...) It was so refreshing to read a genuinely good story, with genuinely good themes and messages that didn't leave me feeling...gross after reading it. For so long, I convinced myself it was boring or not applicable to my life--SISTER, I WAS SO WRONG. • Real Talk: Life update + advice for your personal quiet time

  I've missed talking to you!! Thank you for sticking around while I've been transitioning from high school to college; definitely been a big change in my life. I want you to view this episode like a conversation between friends over a cup of tea (or water, or coffee, etc.) who haven't talked in a while. I'm giving you an update on my life, especially the spiritual side, and giving you some sisterly advice about how to approach reading the Bible on your own. In all honesty? This is how I would talk to a sister. I pray this encourages you, and reminds you that you aren't alone in your faith! I mention Matthew 6:33 and Philippians 4:13 pretty briefly, and then talk about memorizing Psalm 4. You should totally take a second and read those on your own.
