Both Disney+ and the Disney-owned Hulu streaming service have now announced their official programming slates for February 2026. Per Hulu Press, several highly anticipated anime works are scheduled to release new English dubs between Feb. 4–27. These series include Spy x Family, My Hero Academia: Final Season, Pretty Cure and One Piece. Disney+ will also see the addition of two new titles, including a spinoff of the popular French-Japanese anime series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Crunchyroll has recently revealed an overview of upcoming English-dubbed anime for the Winter 2026 season. In the list, Frieren Season 2 has been included, which means the series is definitely receiving an English dub within January to March 2026. Additionally, Season 1 of Frieren received its English dub after two weeks of the anime’s Japanese debut. If this new season were to follow the same pattern, then the Frieren Season 2 English dub is expected to be released January 30, 2026.

With an explosive fourth episode featuring Maki Zen'in, Jujutsu Kaisen's third season has been delivering on the brutality it has come to be known for as one of the Shonen Dark Trio. Jujutsu Kaisen was primed for a massive comeback when it returned for its third season earlier this January, and now that its first four episodes have aired, it's clear that Gege Akutami's beloved franchise has set a new bar for the shonen anime genre. Maki Zenin has pushed JJK into bloody new territory, putting the entire anime world on notice in the process.

Another year has passed, and it's time once again for the Japan Academy Film Prize—one of the most prestigious awards in the Japanese film calendar—to crown the Best Animated Film. Ahead of the full event on March 13, the Award for Excellence recipients were released today, revealing that both Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle are up for Best Animation Film.

Winners for each category are chosen from those picked for an Award for Excellence, a kind of nomination process.

The full award is really anyone's game this year, as Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen TrainOpens in a new tab won the award in 2020, and Look Back, based on another manga written by Chainsaw ManOpens in a new tab creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, won last year. Of course, 100 Meters has been praised for its animation, and Detective ConanOpens in a new tab is a continuing cultural icon of the Japanese entertainment landscape, having been nominated many times before without winning.
