A Storm of Spoilers

This week, Da7e and Neil are back for another round of Re-Thrones as they tackle the abruptly abbreviated second season of House of the Dragon.
They begin with a recap of the season's events, a discussion about the limited redeeming qualities of Ser Criston Cole, and highlight a number of very important adaptation choices made by the writers' room.
Then they hand out season their season superlatives, The Georgies [51:20], before diving into The Storm [01:16:54] to look ahead at what they expect from season 3, using Neil's book knowledge, early reviews, and rampant internet rumors.
Next week, House of the Dragon season 3 begins! The season premiere airs on HBO and HBO Max Sunday evening and the pod returns Monday for a full breakdown.

This week, Da7e and Neil return after their brief hiatus with a newly cleaned Citadel of Crazytown to begin their next era of Westerosi podcasting as they prepare for the return of House of the Dragon. Up first, a Re-Thrones of season 1.
They begin with a look back at the highlights of HotD's first season, from the big book changes to the time jumps to what they would change if they could go back in time.
Then they hand out superlative Georgie Awards for including the Best Gift to the God of Death, season MVPs, The Catelyn Stark Memorial Ironic Statement Award, and much more.

This week, Da7e and Neil close out their Monarch era with two season finales — the one for the Apple TV+ show and the one for The Godzilla Project RPG. Which one is more highly anticipated? That's for you to decide.
In The Calm [06:50], they discuss the season finale of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a spectacle-filled final hour that brings together several Titans, numerous dumb story decisions, and a few surprises. They also take some wild swings at what might be in store for a season 3 and lay out some theoretical concepts for the Red Monarch spin-off show.
Then, The Godzilla Project [01:02:34] RPG concludes with an avalanche of dice rolls as Director Neil finds out how well his fake movie, Godzilla: Awakening, does with critics, fans, Beetle Baragon popcorn bucket sales, and at the box office. Will it out-gross Godzilla: King of the Monsters? Will Anya Taylor-Joy get a backend bonus? Will Director Neil ever work in Hollywood again? All will be decided.
Next up, A Storm of Spoilers is taking a brief hiatus as your faithful hosts clean out the Citadel of Crazytown and prepare for their triumphant return to Westeros. The podcast will return on June 8th with ReThrones: House of the Dragon Season 1 as they kick off their countdown to season 3 of the dragon show. This week, Da7e and Neil have reached the penultimate episode of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two. Which, mercifully, means there's only one left. But also, another very fun installment of The Godzilla Project RPG awaits!
In The Calm [07:50], they discuss Godzilla's brief involvement in the show's story and debate all the ways in which Monarch could reset the timeline and make the journey worth it.
Then in The Storm [53:16], they offer up their own versions of satisfying conclusions for season 2 and wonder if the show will come even close.
And finally, The Godzilla Project [01:04:30] RPG reaches the marketing phase. Neil pitches the trailer for Godzilla: Awakening, decides on a merch strategy, and faces off against Journalist Da7e for several contentious press tour rolls.
Next week, it's finales all around as Monarch closes out season two with an episode called "Where We Belong" and the final rolls of The Godzilla Project hit the table.

This week, Da7e and Neil are still watching Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a show that now includes some Godzilla. They also continue the highly-acclaimed Godzilla Project RPG!
In The Calm [07:58], they break down the shortest episode of season two so far and attempt to understand the rules of character travel times. They are also forced to perform an unfortunate Godzilla Antagonist Check-in.
Then in The Storm [46:26], your faithful hosts look ahead to the final two episodes of the season and spool up theories about what monster fights might lay ahead.
And finally, The Godzilla Project [01:02:00] RPG wraps up post production with consequential dice rolls that will determine the quality of reshoots, the film's final cut, and one of the pivotal elements of any Godzilla film, the score.
