  • Love Makes A Family, With Linda Fruits and Maddy Gross
It's pride month, but it's always a good time to celebrate all the love. This episode has no shortage of real, honest, deep, intense love, and what beautiful things can happen when someone stops letting society dictate how their life should look, and starts looking inward to make big decisions. Danielle was so excited to catch up with her friend, Linda, to get caught up on the impactful and enormous changes that have occurred since she came out over two years ago. Danielle was even more thrilled that Linda's partner, Maddy, (who happens to be pregnant with Linda's ex-husband/co-parent's baby) was gracious enough to join the conversation. They catch up on the huge events that have taken place, including:How Linda and Maddy met and fell in loveWhat life looks like now, while they are living with Chris, Linda's ex-husband and their kidsWhat made them ask Chris if he would be willing to be the biological father of Maddy's baby, and what his response wasHow people react to their "atypical" familyWhat it's like living in Florida now that so much anti-LGBTQ legislation is being passed, and if they plan to moveWhat they will tell the new baby's older siblings concerning why their family looks different from other familiesHow they deal with negative looks, attention, and feedback concerning their unique lifestyleLinda and Maddy have recently been feature in People magazine and other media outlets to highlight their love story. But only on this episode will you get the raw, complete details of how it all happened.Check out Linda's instagram @fruitsofmotherhood to follow along their journey from here.Click here to purchase Tractive pet tracker and use code "Martini" for 20% off. • Platonic Soulmates Are Real, With Good Moms Bad Choices
Danielle and Adam are finally reunited with Erica and Jamilah from the podcast, Good Moms Bad Choices, and in this episode they are going DEEP into what society gets wrong about relationships, and why they're shifting the narrative about what a "life-partner" can look like. These best friends discuss everything from how Erica had the courage to ask Milah to "be her friend," when they were both young single moms, and the incredible bond that has developed and evolved since then. In this episode:Why society needs to carve out a more important place for the role friends play in each other's lives. What happens when two single moms become best friends AND business partners. Why Erica and Jamilah want everyone to explore what our lives might look like if we acknowledged that "the rules are fake."How the two have dealt with one of them getting into a serious romantic relationship while the other friend is still "in limbo."In what ways none of them are the same as they were when they met five years ago.How their relationship resembles a marriage in so many ways, yet legally there's no way to benefit from this relationship. Why women need to start embracing one another for exactly who we are rather than sitting in judgment. How their bad choices actually are the reason they're so successful.Check out Erica and Jamilah's new book, A Good Mom's Guide To Making Bad Choices, on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, or wherever you buy books.Follow Good Moms Bad Choices on Instagram. If you loved this episode, you'll also love episodes #81, #90, and #194. • We're More Than Just A Body, with The Bird's Papaya
Danielle has been extremely honest about her struggle with body image and self-acceptance. She was so excited to sit down and ask one of her biggest role models, Sarah Landry (aka The Bird's Papaya) all about her experience and journey towards unapologetic body confidence. The two discuss why a attaining a "goal body" isn't all it's cracked up to be, how they're trying to show up in the world even when they feel uncomfortable, and what they really think makes a person incredibly sexy. Sarah talks about the first time she let her husband really touch her stomach after being a "no-go" zone for so long. Danielle discusses a time when she unintentionally made her daughter self-conscious about her appearance, and what she has since learned from her mistake. Danielle and Sarah also commiserate about how clothing stores have taken the joy and excitement out of shopping, and instead made it an experience filled with exclusion and shame. • Cursing, A Love Story
For the past four and a half years, there's one question that Danielle and Adam get pretty regularly: "why do you have to curse so much?" It's a fair question, and one that actually doesn't bother them, as long as it's asked in a f*cking respectful way. So, why do they curse so much? In what ways do they feel that the art of cursing is misunderstood? What are their rules as parents concerning their kids using profanity? What are their favorite lines from movies that involve cursing? Which of them curses more? If you love cursing, sit down, relax, and get ready for some fantastic facts about "F bombs."Love this episode or any other episode of Marriage and Martinis you've heard?
