Sliced Golf Podcast

It's a busy Sliced episode this week as along with the Dunhill Links and a PGA Tour event in Utah, we had the Asian Games to talk about, where Tom Kim produced a display of guts and class to win a significant gold medal. There's also the Korn Ferry Tour, where Sam's favourite Scotsman landed a double which has him in line for some significant opportunities next year, while Ben has a theory relating to the winner of the latest HotelPlanner Tour event. The news is dominated by LIV again, with key player non-committal on 2.0, another seeking clarity, and Phil Mickelson also making an appearance. Once through all that and a Forgotten Golfer we'd definitely forgotten about, we talk Open de Espana and Baycurrent Classic before signing off as we always do...

We overcome the disappointment of Sunday's Presidents Cup finish to discuss what went wrong for the Internationals, where we are with the event as a whole, the two captains, data vs results, and more, but only after talking through Matt Fitzpatrick's fourth win of the year in the Open de France. Also on the agenda are some coy comments from Cam Smith regarding LIV's future, some injury news, the Asian Games, and a Forgotten Golfer of the Week who forgot he retired. We run through the Race to Dubai and how things are looking for 2027, then there's a look at the Dunhill Links and the PGA Tour event in Utah, before a Highest Bidder right in Sam's wheelhouse.

It was a breathtaking finish to the BMW PGA Championship and that's where we begin our latest episode, dissecting Manuel Elvira's shocking mistake, JJ Spaun's poise under the gun, the putts that separated him from Rory McIlroy, and Aaron Rai's 18th-hole decision. There's a brief word on both the PGA Tour event and a new winner from Denmark, and a bit more on one from Scotland who Sam has been following closely. We cover Tosti's tantrum and get into the details of PGA Tour plans for 2028, and then it's on to a welcome return to Le Golf National, plus our assessment of what looks on paper to be a one-sided Presidents Cup.

For the second time in a month we have a bonus episode following a trip behind the ropes on the DP World Tour, this time at the BMW PGA Championship where Sam caught up with Alex Smalley, Bud Cauley and Laurie Canter - and grabbed another phone number. We also discuss some of the news that has broken this week including the return of the Hong Kong Open and concerns over the upcoming Middle East events after Matt Fitzpatrick and Robert MacIntyre both expressed security concerns. There's a word on Category 12 and ideas for improving it and a few more nuggets too.

It was another glorious weekend of golf in Europe and two dream results, as Shane Lowry romped to his second Irish Open title and Europe won a thrilling Solheim Cup. We're on hand to pick apart both storylines including Lowry's comments on Saturday and how Europe made the USA pay for early celebrations. After that the news segment includes some fighting which could even have Ryder Cup implications ahead of an upcoming scouting mission, before we get into the LIV bankruptcy filing and some vital details which suggest the future '2.0' version may struggle to make it past mid-October. After Forgotten Golfer we get to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, the jewel in the crown for the DP World Tour, there's a word too on the new PGA Tour event, and a disappointing combined effort in Highest Bidder.
