Air Traffic Out Of Control

In this episode, a Jet Blue pilot is concerned about instructions from air traffic control on his approach to JFK. An Air France heavy aircraft is flying only one thousand feet overhead and the pilot is concerned about turbulence from the wake. In this episode, we are going down under, where a Quantas B737 declares an emergency while taking off from Sydney, bound for Brisbane. The right engine of the aircraft has exploded and the grass adjacent to the runway has caught on fire. The explosion and subsequent fire results in thick smoke on the runway, and the tower springs into action to halt operations and deal with the situation. In this episode, a private aircraft is making an approach to Phoenix Sky Harbor, when the tower denies the landing due to a special guest. There is a temporary flight restriction in place due to VIP presidential movement. The pilot weighs his options with the tower, because he is only able to land at an airport which has customs available, since the aircraft is inbound from Mexico. In this episode, a helicopter is violating airspace over New York city and causing concern with air traffic control.  To make things worse, the pilot is not on the frequency he needs to be on to communicate with the JFK tower.
